A novel in 6 months?

While I’m here and updating everything, here’s the biggest update yet: I’ve entered a novel writing thing. It’s a motivational/kick up the bum type of thing that will mean I write a first draft in six months. I’m even paying money, which means I better take it seriously.

I was drawn to this one because of its set framework: a week for plotting, four months for writing, a month for editing. It seems like it will give me the structure and encouragement I need to truly find out what I’m made of – and whether that “made of” stuff includes novelist. It’s something I’ve been talking about doing for so long that I’m sure people are sick of me talking about it. Shit or get off the pot, right?

The next six months will be all about the wordage – as long as I get in. Keep your fingers crossed for me; will find out tomorrow! Eeeeeek!!!

Here’s where you can find out more about the 6 month novel challenge.

I'm a 30-something female seeking to create a great work of art... or at least something people will actually want to read. Is it the same thing?
