So I didn’t make the NYC Midnight Flash Fiction Challenge final. To make it worse, I got an “honourable mention” – i.e. you were only just not good enough. That makes it worse!
I should be thankful and take heart from the fact that I did better than in last year’s challenge: one whole round better. But I’m so damn competitive.
I keep getting told I should now stop with the competitions and start actually submitting to publications… but that takes a whole other set of motivation.
And a whole whole other set of motivation: nanowrimo. It’s day 19; I’ve written about 300 words.
Total hashtag fail all round.
